Overview of rapeseed oil production line configuration
The configuration of rapeseed oil production line usually includes several key links such as raw material pretreatment, pressing, refining, packaging and storage, and intelligent control system.
- Raw material pretreatment:
Cleaning sieve: Remove impurities such as stones and metals from the raw materials.
Crusher: Crushes raw materials into particles of appropriate size for subsequent processing.
Softening pot: By heating and stirring, the raw materials are softened to increase the oil yield.
Rolling mill: Roll softened raw materials into thin sheets, increase surface area, and improve oil yield.
- Squeezing:
Spiral oil press: Using the principle of spiral extrusion, the oil in rapeseed is squeezed out. The equipment should have the characteristics of high efficiency and low energy consumption.
Centrifugal separator: used to separate pressed oil residue and crude oil, improving the purity of crude oil.
- Refining:
Degumming equipment: using physical or chemical methods to remove impurities such as phospholipids and colloids from wool oil.
Acid removal equipment: removes free fatty acids from crude oil through alkaline refining or physical adsorption, reducing the acid value of the oil.
Decolorization equipment: using activated carbon and other adsorbents to remove pigments from oil and improve its color.
Deodorization equipment: Under high temperature and vacuum conditions, it removes odorous substances from oil and improves its taste and flavor.
- Packaging and Storage:
Filling machine: According to customer needs, the refined rapeseed oil is filled into packaging containers of different specifications.
Sealing machine: Seal the filled packaging container to prevent oil leakage and contamination.
Storage tank: A storage tank made of stainless steel or other materials, with good sealing and anti-corrosion properties, ensuring that oil and grease are not contaminated during storage.

RAPESEED OIL PRESSING PROCESS
Cold pressing is the simple and traditional method of producing oil. If the output is small, such as less than 5 tons per day, we can use a spiral or hydraulic type oil press. The seed is simply squeezed at a low temperature, which means that the oils natural rich golden colour and nutrients are preserved.
Once the oil has settled, it is filtered and then bottled. It really is as simple as that. No heat, no chemicals just pure and healthy homegrown oil. We only press our seed once, this ensures that we only produce the highest quality, undiluted cold pressed rapeseed oil.
Another method is called hot pressing, which is one of the important processes in the oil extracting process, through steamed or fried to adjust the humidity and temperature of the rapeseed, to make the rapeseed pressing process more smoothly.
Then the rapeseed is mechanically pressed to extract approximately half to three quarters of the available oil so that the solvent extraction can be run more efficiently.
1) Cleaning of rapeseed before entering the rapeseed oil pressing machine. Through cleaning rapeseed, the loss of oilseed can be reduced, the oil yield can be accelerated, the quality of oilseed and cake can be accelerated, the processing capacity of canola oil pressing machine can be increased, the wear of rapeseed oil pressing equipment can be reduced, and the fly ash can be reduced, which is beneficial to environmental protection.
2) Soften the rapeseed. It is to crush large particles, or adjust the moisture and temperature of small particles of rapeseed to a suitable degree to make it quite plastic, so as to facilitate cooking. The general temperature is between 60 and 70℃. Flaking is conducive to the destruction of the cell structure of oilseeds, and it is easy to take out the oil in the cells. The thickness of rapeseed embryo is 0.2-0.3 microns.
3) Rapeseed oil pressing machine for pressing. The pretreated rapeseed is sent to the rapeseed oil pressing machine for pressing and oil extraction.
This stage is different from large-scale canola oil extraction method. It relies entirely on the pure physical pressing of canola oil pressing machine, does not contain other chemical solvents, and thus fully retains the nutritional components and original flavor of rapeseed.:

RAPESEED CRUDE OIL REFINING PROCESS
Extracted and desolventized rapeseed oil must be further processed to make an edible product. Edible oils are refined to improve the flavor, odor, color and stability using processes that degum, neutralize, bleach and deodorize the oil.
These refining processes will remove contaminants such as phosphatides, free fatty acids and pro-oxidants. The components of refined rapeseed oil meet national standards and can be sold in the market.
Further processing of oils and fats is sometimes desired. Some oils are winterized or dewaxed and some are modified to change melting characteristics. Byproducts may be further processed to create value-added products or reduce costs.
The rapeseed oil extraction plant has a large output, and the type, model and quantity of equipment need to be configured according to the scale of the canola oil plant, the grade of oil, the budget of the rapeseed oil plant, etc. Generally speaking, the equipment required by canola oil mill can be divided into the following four categories:
- Rapeseed oil pretreatment machine
Rapeseed oil mills have a large output, and the cleaning and pretreatment of raw materials need to be operated by mechanized equipment. The equipment required generally includes cleaning screen, stone remover, flaking machine, cooking pot, etc.; the oilseed is processed through the above equipment to remove impurities such as stones and sand in the rapeseed, and then its original organizational structure is destroyed so that it can better extract oil.
- Rapeseed oil extraction machine
The rapeseed oil extraction process is to adopt the mutual dissolution of oil and organic solvents. After pre-pressing the rapeseed into cake, the organic solvents such as n-hexane and the oil cake are contacted in the rapeseed oil extractor to extract and dissolve the oil, and then the solvent in the oil is removed by heating and steam stripping. The crude oil obtained is further refined and becomes the final edible oil.
In this way, the residual oil in the oil residue can be reduced to less than 1%. The advantages of the canola oil extraction process are that the meal cake contains less residual oil, high oil yield, low processing cost, high economic benefits, and high quality of the meal, which has a good feeding effect in the feed industry.
- Rapeseed oil refinery
Rapeseed oil refining machine is an important equipment to ensure the quality of rapeseed oil, and it is also the last step in canola oil processing. The crude rapeseed oil is transported to the rapeseed oil refinery through a pipeline, after filtering through a plate and frame filter, and then the main processes such as degumming, deacidification, decolorization, deodorization, and dewaxing of the canola oil refining machine are to obtain the finished rapeseed oil.
The rapeseed oil after the above rapeseed oil refining process can meet the national standard of first-grade rapeseed oil, and the quality, storage time, and food safety are greatly improved.
