The design of energy saving waste heat boiler is a complex and complicated large-scale process with high reliability and economy requirements. At present, there are widespread problems such as large dependence on experienced designers, long design cycle, poor knowledge reuse, etc. Whether we can quickly develop new products required by customers is related to the survival and development of enterprises.

Waste heat boilers are divided into fire tube type and water tube type. Its structure is similar to that of an industrial boiler. Fire tube waste heat boiler has large water storage capacity, and the steam pressure fluctuation is small under the condition of smoke volume and steam consumption fluctuation, but its evaporation and steam pressure are limited by the diameter of the drum and operating conditions.

In addition, due to poor cooling and large temperature stress, the pipe end and tube plate should not be used in the case of high smoke temperature (higher than 600℃) and thick tube plate, and should use water pipe waste heat boiler. Water tube waste heat boiler has two circulation modes: auxiliary circulation and natural circulation.

The exhaust temperature of various smelting furnaces and roasting kilns is 650 ~ 1250℃; The exhaust temperature of power machinery such as gas turbines and diesel engines is 370 ~ 540℃.

By installing a waste heat boiler to absorb some of the heat in these exhaust gases, the utilization of heat energy in the whole system can be significantly improved. For example, after the waste heat boiler is installed in the steel rolling heating furnace, the heat energy utilization rate of the whole system can even be increased by about 1 times.

The flue gas temperature entering the waste heat boiler is an important factor to determine the heating surface layout of the waste heat boiler. If the inlet flue gas temperature is 400 ~ 900℃, the boiler is mainly set up convection tube bundle, not set up the furnace chamber; However, there are exceptions when the melting point of the smoke is low, and the cooling chamber should be set up to control the temperature of the inlet smoke into the convection flue, so as to avoid the ash and slag bridging between the convection pipe rows.

In the cracking process of chemical production, in order to avoid the re-polymerization of high temperature cracking gas, it is necessary to rapidly cool the high temperature cracking gas to the temperature at which the cracking reaction stops, and then the waste heat boiler becomes an indispensable quenching process equipment.

After the high temperature dust containing waste gas passes through the waste heat boiler, in addition to reducing the temperature, it can also settle a part of the dust particles, which is beneficial to reduce environmental pollution and select the dust collector. In the process of chemical production, the exhaust temperature of the waste heat boiler depends on the requirements of the next process.

Waste heat boilers used in industrial furnaces generally use induced draft fans to exhaust gas to the atmosphere; Waste heat boilers used in power machinery and chemical production processes rely on the pressure of the intake air itself to pass through the waste heat boiler and go into the atmosphere or into the next process unit.

When the imported flue gas temperature or exhaust gas combustion temperature is above 1100 ° C, its layout is not much different from that of general industrial boilers. When the high temperature waste gas contains a lot of accumulative fine ash, the boiler tube row should be vertically arranged, and the flue gas should be longitudinally washed at a high smoke speed (about 20 m/s).

For high temperature waste gas containing corrosive soot, the flow rate should be low (about 8 m/s) and uniform, and other anti-wear measures should be taken for corrosive high temperature waste gas containing sulfur dioxide (SO2), usually the smoke exhaust temperature should be higher, rather than heating the feed water economizer, the purpose is to improve the metal wall temperature and prevent metal from being corroded by sulfuric acid.
